Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Lucky Ducks Resale runs a small website. We collect very little, and most of it is information you hand over deliberately.

• Information you send us. When you fill in the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you type, plus anything you add about a particular item. That is used to reply to you and nothing else.
• Basic technical information. Like almost every website, our host records standard server log data — IP address, browser type, the page requested, the time of the request. This is ordinary web-server housekeeping and is used for security and troubleshooting.
• Cookies and similar technologies. See the cookies section below.

We do not ask for, and have no use for, payment card details, postal addresses, dates of birth, or any of the categories of sensitive information (health, biometrics, precise location, religious or political affiliation) that some privacy laws single out.

Purchases happen somewhere else

This is the important one, and it is unusual enough to be worth saying plainly: you cannot buy anything on this website. Every sale happens on a third-party marketplace — Whatnot, eBay or Vinted.

That means when you buy from Lucky Ducks Resale, the platform you bought on collects your payment details and your shipping address, holds them, and governs what happens to them. We see only what that platform chooses to show a seller — typically your username, the item, and a shipping label. We never receive your card details.

How we use your information

We use what you send us to:

• reply to your message;
• answer a question about an item, a live sale, or something you are hunting for;
• keep a record of the conversation, so that if you write again we have the context;
• keep the website working and secure.

We do not use your information to build a profile of you, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

Cookies and analytics

The website itself uses a small number of functional cookies that make ordinary things work — keeping you signed in if you have an account, and remembering that a form has been submitted.

We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count how many people visit and which pages they read. That tells us that a page was popular; it does not tell us who you are.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.

Pages that embed content from another service — a social post, or a video — may set that service's own cookies when they load. We do not control those.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We share it only in these situations:

• Service providers who help run the site — our web host, and the email service that delivers a contact-form message. They handle it on our instructions and for no other purpose.
• Marketplaces, where a transaction requires it — but as above, that data flows through their systems, not ours.
• Legal requirements — if we were required by law, a court order, or a valid legal process to disclose something.

How long we keep it

Contact-form messages are kept for as long as they are useful for the conversation they belong to, and then deleted. In practice that means messages older than about two years get cleared out.

Server logs rotate on our host's normal schedule, typically within a few weeks.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, kept up to date, and access to the message records is limited to the people who need it, which at Lucky Ducks Resale means Suzy and the developer who maintains the site.

No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can say is that we hold very little, so there is very little to lose.

Your choices and your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct it if it is wrong;
• delete it;
• stop using it for a particular purpose.

We will honour a reasonable request of this kind whether or not the law where you live requires it, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

If you bought something on Whatnot, eBay or Vinted and want that purchase data dealt with, the request needs to go to the platform — we cannot delete records we do not hold.

Links to other sites

This site links out constantly — to our Whatnot shop, our eBay store, our Vinted closet, and our social accounts. Once you follow one of those links you are on somebody else's website, under somebody else's privacy policy. We are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Children's privacy

This site is meant for adults, and the marketplaces we sell on have their own minimum ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something through the contact form, tell us through that same form and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version goes up here and the “last updated” date at the top changes with it. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site rather than quietly swapping the wording.

Getting in touch about privacy

Questions about this policy, or about information we hold, go through the contact form. We read everything that comes in and usually reply within a day or two.

We deliberately do not publish a postal address, a phone number or a direct email address — Lucky Ducks Resale is a one-person operation run from home, and the form is the way to reach it.
